What is 'Heartbeat star'?
Scientists have made important achievements in uncovering many secrets of heart beat stars present in our galaxy. These stars do not have a magnetic field. Instead of vibrating when they come close to each other, they become oval.

This important discovery by scientists from 28 countries of the world, including Aries, has raised hopes of revealing the secrets of the collision of such stars.
Senior astronomer Dr. Santosh Joshi of Aryabhata Observational Science Research Institute (ARIES) Nainital was involved in this important discovery of the secrets of heart beat stars. He told that as soon as two stars come close to each other, due to gravity, they start vibrating among themselves. Our discovery has changed this notion itself. This discovery was made on the star named Heart Beat HD 73619 present in our galaxy itself. Scientists found that even when two stars came close, they did not vibrate nor did they have a magnetic field. When they got closer, they became oval. These facts were shocking. Scientists from 28 countries of the world were studying on this discovery since 1999. In this, the telescope Kepler installed in the sky including the earth was used. The observations were made from the one and 1.3 meter optical telescopes of Aeries installed on Earth. The help of Russia's six meter diameter telescope was also taken.
Heartbeat is abnormal stars:
Heart beat stars are abnormal. There is very little difference in their brightness decreasing and increasing like the heartbeat. That is, in a way, their brightness is less and more like ECG. Not much study has been done on such stars so far. Due to which the heart beat stars have become special for scientists around the world.

When the stars are at closest passage of binary systems, a sudden increase in integrated
brightness with amplitude of the order of several parts-per-thousand (ppt) is observed. As
the components move apart, the light variation falls and finally becomes flat, indicating
that combined flux is reduced, resulting in alternating peaks and troughs in their light
curves. The pulsational activity of such stars is due to the oscillations in the component
stars when they are at their closest approach,โ the scientists said
The secret of the collision of stars will be revealed soon:
According to Dr. Santosh Joshi, after getting new information about Heart Veet stars, now the next search can be started regarding their collision. From which it will be known whether these stars collide with each other or not. This mystery will also be revealed in the next few years. This research has recently been published in Astrophysical General.
